Nigeria Air & Ethiopian Air: Stakeholders Complaining

by | Oct 28, 2022 | 3 comments

I knew it wasn’t a horrible idea when it was reported that Ethiopian Air had acquired a 49% part in the new “Nigerian Air” carrier, which is slated to begin operations by the end of this year. Nonetheless, I know it is not a tough option to make because ET is used to working in Africa and understands the importance of cultural diversity in business decisions. For a beautiful bride like Nigeria Air with a wonderful future, it has to be the biggest boy in Africa who can afford the bride price.

However, the rough edges around the relationship, as depicted in the image below, must be worked out amicably. Because the drag created by the rough edges will affect the lift if the airplane ever takes off.

The government cannot dismiss the criticisms and concerns of the partnerships by different stakeholders.

Personally, I highly favor collaboration and partnership among African airlines, and this has not changed, but you cannot dismiss stakeholder complaints since the airline industry is a closed loop in which one cannot exist without the other.

So, in the interest of long-term growth, innovation, safety, efficiency, and profitability, let us reconsider this transaction.
